Problem powering a Belaire Air Compressor 5026VP

They call it a 5hp compressor, but after reading much of the information on this site, I know better than that now. Chances are it has a 1-2 running hp, but a startup peak of 5hp which may be causing my problem.

I have a mobile repair business and I have the compressor mounted in my van, but unfortunately, the Coleman 2000/4000 watt power inverter is not enough to power the compressor or get it over the peak amp draw. I called the manufacturer of the compressor to find out the locked rotor amperage and they didn't know. I found that to be odd, but not much I an do about that. Being that the 4000 watts @ 115 should have given me a peak of about 34 amps, it leads me to believe the startup amperage is obviously higher.

I'm thinking of trying a Maxx 3000/6000 which should give me a peak of about 52 amps and it might be enough to get me over the hump and should easily be enough to maintain the running amperage. unfortunately, this is a guessing game without knowing what the start-up amperage draw is. Is there any way to find out what the start up amp draw is since the people that should know won't provide the information or don't know it?

Here are some specs if it helps.
Horsepower: 5 * Pump: B2800 * Motor Volt/Phase: 115/230-1 * Tank (gal): 26VP * CFM Displacement: 11.90 * ACFM @ 100 PSI: 7.10 * Max PSI: 130

plug it in at home and use an ampmeter to find out the start peak current
